You've tried the usual options.
They haven't been enough.

Most of our patients come to us after years of cortisone shots, physical therapy, and being told to "manage" their pain — or consider surgery. There's a middle path.

"My doctor said the next step is a knee replacement. I'm 54 and not ready for that."

Knee osteoarthritis

"I've had three cortisone shots in my shoulder. They help for a few weeks, then it's back."

Rotator cuff tendinopathy

"I can't get through a round of golf anymore. I've tried everything and nothing sticks."

Hip & knee arthritis

"My heel pain has been going on for two years. I just want to walk without wincing."

Plantar fasciitis

What is regenerative medicine?

Regenerative medicine is a different approach to musculoskeletal pain and injury. Instead of masking symptoms with steroids or managing your way toward surgery, it works by harnessing and amplifying your body's own capacity to heal. Using concentrated biologic material — drawn from your own body and delivered with precision to the source of the damage — these procedures are designed to address the underlying problem, not just quiet it down.

It works with your biology

Your body already has the machinery to repair tissue. Regenerative procedures concentrate and deliver your own growth factors and biologic signals directly to the injured area — giving your body the resources and the signal to do what it's built to do.

Precision is everything

Every procedure at BAO is performed by Dr. Fischer under real-time ultrasound guidance — the treatment goes exactly where it needs to go, confirmed visually, every time. Nothing is delegated to a technician. It's physician-performed, individualized care.

The Fischer Bioregenesis Protocol™

Not one procedure — a system.

Regenerative medicine has many facets, and no two patients are the same. The Fischer Bioregenesis Protocol™ is the system Dr. Fischer developed and refined over years of practice — matching each patient to the specific procedure and approach most likely to help their condition, backed by real outcome data.

Rotator cuff tendinopathy
Plantar fasciitis
Tennis & golfer's elbow

A word on insurance.

We're a private-pay practice — and that's a deliberate choice, made in your favor.

When a clinic answers to insurance companies, the insurer decides what care you're allowed to have. We don't work that way. Being private-pay means Dr. Fischer recommends what he genuinely believes will help you heal — not what a billing code permits. Your treatment plan is built around your body, not around a policy.

If you have Medicare or private insurance, you're not shut out. As an out-of-network provider, we work directly with you — and the contract stays where it belongs: between you and your insurer. Your initial consultation may be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement through your plan, and we can provide the documentation you need to pursue it on your own terms.

The regenerative procedures themselves are not covered by insurance — no carrier reimburses for them yet. We'll always be upfront about that, so you can plan with a clear picture. Investing in your health is your decision, made with full information.

the only physician you'll see.

Triple Board-Certified Osteopathic Physician Regenerative Medicine Forefront of the field since 2017

Dr. Fischer founded Bay Area Orthobiologics because he saw too many patients stuck in a cycle of cortisone shots and surgical referrals — without ever being offered a real alternative.

Every procedure is performed and designed by Dr. Fischer himself — under ultrasound guidance, using protocols he developed and refined over years of practice, now backed by real outcome data.

Straight answers.

Does insurance cover regenerative medicine?

The regenerative procedures themselves are not covered — no insurance carrier reimburses for them yet, as they're on the cutting edge of the field. Your initial consultation, however, may be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement through your plan, and we can provide the documentation you need to pursue it. BAO is a private-pay practice, and that's a feature, not a limitation: as an out-of-network provider, the insurance contract stays between you and your insurer, and Dr. Fischer's recommendations are driven entirely by what's best for you — not by what a billing code allows. You'll always get a clear, transparent cost estimate before any commitment.

How do I know if I'm a good candidate?

The candidacy check above is the first step — it takes about two minutes and helps us understand your condition. Regenerative medicine has many procedure types, each suited to a specific purpose, so ultimately a review of your imaging and your specific situation is what determines whether one of our procedures is a good fit. Dr. Fischer gives every patient a candid, data-backed assessment of their likelihood of response — including an honest "no" when that's the right answer. No surprises, no overselling. The only way to know is to start the conversation.

What's the recovery like?

Most patients experience mild soreness for 3–5 days following the procedure — this is the healing response getting underway. There's no surgery, no hospital stay, and no general anesthesia. Most people return to normal activities within a week and notice gradual improvement over the following weeks.

What happens after I fill out the form?

Dr. Fischer's team reviews your submission personally and reaches out within one business day. If you appear to be a good candidate, we'll schedule a discovery call — a real conversation with Dr. Fischer, not a sales call. No pressure, no obligation.
